A tag sticker is the little pill-shaped label with a pointer — the visual language of tagging someone in a story, naming a dish on a food flatlay, or annotating the parts of a setup photo. Done in a heavy editor it's a ten-minute layer-styling job; Zebra's tag tool makes it a thirty-second one. Type the label, point the arrow, drag it into place. Every tag is editable until the moment you download, and the output is your photo at full resolution.
Three steps
- Open the tag tool and upload a photo.
- Click Add tag and type the label text. Drag the tag next to what it's naming.
- Pick the arrow direction so it points at the subject, style the tag, and hit Download.
Tags are independent objects — click one to select it and the panel edits just that tag. Add as many as the photo needs: five friends in a group shot, every item on a desk, each ingredient on a plate.
Everything you can change
- Text — the label itself; double-click a tag on the photo to edit in place. Alignment: left, center, right.
- 8 fonts — from a clean grotesque (Geologica, the default) through Inter and Avenir to a script (Mavka) and a chunky display face (Lapsus). One tap swaps the entire look of the tag.
- Font size (12–40 px) plus a scale control (30–400%) for resizing the whole sticker.
- Rotation — −180° to +180°, and the slider snaps to 0° when you get close, so finding perfectly-horizontal again takes no squinting.
- Arrow — points up, right, down, or left from the pill, or no arrow at all for a plain label.
- Style: Solid or Glass — Solid is a filled pill; Glass is a frosted, translucent pill that blurs the photo behind it, the iOS-materials look. In Glass mode the color you pick becomes the tint.
- Colors — 15 curated presets (black, white, and a Pantone-ish editorial row: Peach Fuzz, Persimmon, Teal, Sage…) for both text and pill, plus a picker that accepts any custom color.
- Duplicate & delete — clone a styled tag so a set of labels stays visually consistent, then just change the text.
Recipes that work
- Story-style name tag: black pill, white text, arrow down, default font. The canonical look — reads instantly as "this is who that is."
- Frosted glass label: Glass style with a white tint, arrow toward the subject. Sits on busy photos without covering them — the background blurs through the pill.
- Editorial product callout: Peach Fuzz or Sage pill, black text, no arrow, slight rotation. Looks like a magazine spread annotation.
- Price or spec labels: white pill, black text, small size, arrow at each item. Duplicate one tag per item so sizes match exactly.
- Handwritten vibe: the Mavka script font, white text on a dark pill, a few degrees of rotation.
The duplicate button is the secret to clean multi-tag photos: style one tag, clone it for every subject, and only the text differs. Nothing looks more amateur than five labels in five slightly different sizes.
Tags vs chat bubbles vs plain text
Three tools, three jobs. A tag names something in the frame — it's a label with a pointer, attached to a subject. A chat bubble is speech — someone saying something, with a tail instead of an arrow. Plain drawn text is decoration or a caption — typography over the photo with no pill around it. If you're labeling five people, that's tags. If two of them are having a conversation, that's the bubble tool. If you want a curved headline across the sky, that's the draw-text tool.
What it's good for
- Tagging people in group photos for posts and stories — without relying on a platform's own tagging that disappears when the image is saved.
- Food and recipe photos — name every component on the plate, arrows pointing in.
- Setup and gear photos — the "what's on my desk" annotation format.
- Before/after and product shots — small spec callouts that survive reposting because they're baked into the image.
- Travel photos — place names pointed at the skyline. Crop the shot to its final frame first with the crop tool, then place tags — labels placed before a crop have a way of ending up half outside it. A collage of tagged photos makes a solid "everything named" roundup image.
